The "normal" way to reboot a computer running windows 10/8 is through the start menu: open the start menu. click or tap the power button (windows 10) or power options button (windows 8). "reboot" doesn't always mean "reset" be very careful if you see the option to reset something.. Windows 10 doesn't shutdown or restart properly i recently installed windows 10 ( november update ) from scratch on laptop, and now it won't shutdown properly. i have turned off fast startup and sleep mode from power options.. When i try to restart my pc (w7 home premium), it will close down windows and save the settings, but after this when the screen goes dark like normally at a shutdown/reboot, it stays dark and the computer doesn't reboot..
When you click “shut down” on your windows 10 pc, windows doesn’t fully shut down. it hibernates the kernel, saving its state so it can boot faster. if you’re experiencing computer problems and need to reset that state, you’ll need to restart your pc instead. we’ve personally experienced this problem ourselves.. Restart doesn't work i cannot use the restart function, and have to literally shut down my computer at the tower. bear with me please, i have limited knowledge of the computer but can find my way around pretty good..
