Hi! i have a dell inspiron m5010 and it doesn't works so well,i recently run a test with dell's diagnostics,and it said the smart short self test failed,please.... Smart, or self-monitoring analysis and reporting technology, could be indicating a failing hard drive. you may have to take further steps.. I ran a full system scan on my dell laptop and it said that the smart short self test had failed. it explained that my hard drive could fail any time.
